Our Mission.

At the Children’s Welfare and Research Foundation, it is our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of sick or disadvantaged children across the UK.

How we work

Research and Medication

Our partnerships with Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Skeletal Cancer Trust have enabled us to support children and young adults in getting the treatments they need.

Day Trips and Events

We have always looked to provide happiness to those who need it most. Our support of Spread a Smile has helped bring some joy to children and families during long hospital visits.

Focused support

Our support of Playskill has enabled preschool children with physical disabilities and delays to get the help they deserve through therapeutic sessions, training and education for families.

Words from supported Children and Families

  • I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Spread a Smile for organising such a fantastic winter party. My daughter enjoyed every second of it, especially the silent disco and bumper cars! We were once again, blown away by how much was on offer. Not only was there an abundance of activities to entertain the children, the entertainers and volunteers were so warm and welcoming. We always get emotional when we are with Spread a Smile as we are reminded of the kindness and light they bought to our family when we were going through some of our darkest days in hospital.
